Running with Purpose: Emmanuel Lesa’s Journey to Success
At just 26 years old, Section Leader Emmanuel Lesa, employed at an Omega Risk Solutions site at Kansanshi Mine in Solwezi as a CCTV Operator, and who has been with the company for over two years, is proving that determination and discipline can lead to remarkable achievements both inside and outside the workplace.
Emmanuel discovered his passion for running in 2018 while still in secondary school. What began as a way to improve his physical and mental well-being has grown into an impressive marathon career. He has competed in major events across Zambia, including the Kansanshi Marathon, Kitwe Marathon, FNB Marathon and Unify Marathon, earning five silver medals and a trophy along the way. He has also proudly represented both the company and his province at national-level competitions.
On 18 July 2026 he was denied first position in the Kitwe marathon. He was leading the race and 2 km from the end of the race; an official directed him on the wrong route. After a while they realized the mistake and informed him to turn around to the correct route. With this mistake by the official, he still managed to come third in the race.
Balancing work and training requires commitment. Emmanuel uses his days off for training and, on some workdays, even runs to work instead of taking public transport. His dedication has helped him achieve personal bests of 30 minutes for 10 km, 1 hour 12 minutes for the half marathon and an impressive 2 hours 15 minutes for the full marathon.
Emmanuel credits the company’s encouragement and support for helping him develop his talent and continue pursuing excellence. He says that wearing the company’s colors at races is an honor, allowing him to proudly represent the organization while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
His message to colleagues is simple but inspiring: prioritize your health, support one another and never stop pursuing the personal goals that bring purpose and fulfilment. Emmanuel’s journey is a reminder that perseverance, passion and the right support can help us all go the extra mile.

A Strong Season for Heini Fuchs in the Zambia National Motocross Championship 2025
Heinrich Fuchs, better known as “Heini” within Zambia’s motocross community, enjoyed an impressive and memorable 2025 racing season marked by determination, adaptability, and consistent performance.
With limited opportunities available in a dedicated 85cc category during much of the season, Heini competed against older and more experienced riders in the 125cc class — a significant challenge considering the difference in machine capacity and competition level.
Despite these challenges, he delivered several strong performances throughout the season, including securing a victory in the 125cc class, reflecting both his commitment and growing talent within the sport.
During the year, Heini also proudly represented Zambia at the Motocross of African Nations (MXoAN) hosted in Zimbabwe. Supported by sponsors including Omega Risk Solutions, he competed against riders from across the African continent and gained valuable international racing experience.
The season concluded in Mkushi with an exciting international motocross and enduro double-header event, where Heini again produced strong results across multiple disciplines.
His achievements during the 2025 season included:
- Zambia National Champion – 125cc Class
- Runner-up – 125cc Enduro J3 Category
The season represented an important step forward in Heini’s racing development and highlighted his ability to compete successfully under challenging conditions while continuing to grow as a young athlete.
